Academic Awards

Each year Pioneer High School recognizes specific academic achievements

Valedictorian: This student has the highest academic ranking, usually determined by GPA
Salutatorian: This student is second in the graduating class

There can be a possibility of a tie for either level of awards. PHS also issues academic medals for students who achieve high overall GPAs.

seal of biliteracy

WJUSD issues recognition to students who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing one or more languages in addition to English.Eligibility.

scholarships

Students can apply for scholarships to help assist with college funding. Scholarships are from private and public organizations and are frequently based on academic achievement.
