Minga Passes

In the fall of 2023, PHS switched over to an all Digital Hall pass app called Minga.  By using Minga, it eliminates the need for a physical hall pass for each teacher, it creates greater accountability for student whereabouts. and it helps campus security and administrators know which students are out of class at any particular point of the day.

All students, including T.A’s must have an active Minga pass to be out of class.

To create a Minga Restroom/Water Pass students must:

  • Open their Chromebook

    • Go to the Classlink Icon

    • Click on the Minga Icon,

    • Type in the name of your classroom teacher

    • Activate your Minga pass

  • Get approval from your classroom teacher to leave the classroom.

  • Turn their open Chromebook towards their classroom teacher so the Minga screen is easily visible.

  • Turn in your phone to your teacher

Upon return to the classroom

  • Retrieve your phone from your teacher

  • Deactivate your Minga pass.

Minga restrictions

  • To stay consistent with the PHS on campus Electronics Device Policy, students cannot use their phone to create a Minga Pass, they must use their school provided Chromebook. For classes, like PE, Art or Music classes where students cannot easily access their Chromebook, classroom teachers will create their Minga pass.

  • Restroom/Water passes cannot be created for the first or last ten minutes of each class period.

  • Students cannot create Minga passes to the Library, Counseling, the Learning Center or to the Campus Nurse, classroom teachers will need to create the Minga pass. Students who attempt to go to these locations without a Minga pass will be sent back to the classroom.

  • Some students may have administrative consequences placed upon their Minga account where they are not allowed to create their own Minga pass. Classroom teachers can create a restroom/water pass for those students after the 10 minute blackout period.
